How do you change the SKIN on your R4 card?

So you have your R4 card all set up and ready to rock. The only problem is you are getting rather sick of looking at the same boring R4 home screen!!!! Am I right? :-)

Thank goodness the R4i manufacturer of the card, www.r4i-sdhc.com have given you, YES YOU!!! the power to change it!

OK well the first step is to pop your R4 card into the rear game slot on your Nintendo Console and turn it on! If you are using a DS or DSlite then you will go straight to the R4i “Home Screen”, with the DSi, DSi XL and the 3DS you will need to select the game icon on the DS console first which will then open up the R4i “Home Screen”. The “Home Screen” is shown by 3 “ICONS”

From left to right your R4 icons are as follows -
GAMES – All of your game files are located here
MULTIMEDIA – Music, Video and image files are located here
CONFIG – User Settings are located here

Select the “CONFIG” icon, the following screen will show two options – “CONFIG” and “UPGRADE”. Select “CONFIG”, we will discuss the “UPGRADE” option in a moment.

In the R4 configuration menu you are given the ability to change various user settings including the “SKIN”. For those of you that do not know, the SKIN is the design or appearance of the R4 screens.

There are 6 R4 SKIN’s to choose from -
SKIN 1 – Snowy Scene
SKIN 2- Red Victorian Image
SKIN 3 – Super Mario
SKIN 4 – Blue/White Circuit Board
SKIN 5 – OnePiece Pirate Design
SKIN 6 – Bakugan Design

Select the R4 SKIN you want, wait for it to load, then simply hit the “BACK” button and you will see how the home screen has changed!

Now Lets go back to the UPGRADE option. PLEASE DO NOT try to do an upgrade unless you are specifically advised to. Accidentally starting this UPGRADE and then interrupting the power supply to your console can irreparably damage your R4i card.
