Top 10 R4 DS Homebrew – $500 Prize Fund

This summer sees the launch of our Top 10 R4 DS Homebrew Contest. A competition to crown the world’s most popular R4 DS Homebrew and the next 9 in-line to the throne.

10 developers will win a share of $500 (USD, yes we’re a British site but US dollars are a more internationally accepted currency) as well the incredible accolade of being the developer of (one of) the world’s most popular DS Homebrew. The contest is open now and is open to any Nintendo DS/DSi homebrew, old and new, from anywhere in the world.

R4 DS Homebrew Contest

1st Prize: $200
2nd Prize: $100
8 x Runner-up Prizes: $25

It’s Easy to Enter Your Homebrew
You don’t need to send us your software, it won’t be hosted on this site, we will link to your site. Just send your name, the name of your software and your website address to r4contest@r4revolutionds.co.uk by the 31st of July. We won’t send you any spam, sell your address or anything else naughty.

Public Vote
There will be a 2 month open voting period. Visitors to r4revolutionds.co.uk are permitted one vote each. They are allowed to cast their vote based on any criteria but are encouraged to vote based on usefulness, fun, quality, originality and effort. You are allowed to encourage votes, for example, through your website, social network or by word of mouth.

Rules

  • The voting will close on 30th of September and the winners will be announced on October the 5th. Prizes will be sent out as soon as possible via Paypal – along with a virtual medal! You may still enter the Top 10 R4 DS Homebrew contest during this period, but you will be at a disadvantage since you won’t have as much time to gain votes.
  • You may only enter homebrew software which you have developed, this will be checked before any prizes are given.
  • You may enter up to 4 of your own homebrew software. You can win more than one prize.
  • Anyone suspected of unfair practices will be disqualified.
  • The final say in any disagreement will be mine (have to say that for legal reasons).
  • Please only enter if it is legal to do so in your part of the world.

Any questions or thoughts about the contest? Please leave a comment and I’ll get back to you.

You mentioned we had 1 month to enter homebrew into the contest, but which day did it start? I just want to confirm. This was posted on June 26, so does that mean the cutoff to enter homebrew is July 26th?

    Thanks!

Andrew, sorry for the confusion. The contest entry period was extended by a few days. The closing date is actually the 31st of July but you won’t do yourself any harm by entering early since no one will see you’ve entered until the voting period begins.
